Lunar house

Introspective and curious, Lunar students value knowledge above all else. These students are known for their creativity and wit, and have no qualms about reminding you of that fact. You can often find Lunar students perusing the library for tomes of ancient knowledge, or gathering up into study groups around the school. When you hold all the cards in the deck, any game becomes child’s play- and the students of Lunar house are expects at gathering all the pieces.

Intelligence, Wisdom, Creativity, Originality, Individuality

Common Room

Formerly one of the largest greenhouses in Equestria, this area of the castle was converted into a common room when the school opened. The center of the greenhouse features one of the most ancient and accurate moon dials in the known world. A pool of crystal clear, self-circulating water surrounds the moon dial which the students frequently play in or wade through to get to the seating area around the dial. This seating area is perhaps one of the most popular with the students, featuring overstuffed pillows and blankets that are aqua-phobic, staying dry even with rambunctious students playing in the water.

The large fountain statues feature both bookshelves and doors to the dorm areas located a level underneath the ground. The students care for a plethora of plants both magical and mundane that still thrive in the greenhouse. The entire structure is made of glass, allowing for a perfect view of the night sky.

House Portrait

A crystal horned member of an ancient and nearly extinct species of ponies hailing from the Crystal Empire, Dalmatae was an avid supporter of Celestia and her school. When she died, her family donated a large grant to help fund the newly budding university, and this stain-glass mural was installed in her honor.

She is a very wise and kind mare, often giving advice to the students and teachers alike.

She is one of the few pieces of art that does not wander from their frame, as she is one of the few stain-glass ponies in the school. However, she is very active within her own realm which encompasses the whole of the greenhouse, and is frequently seen casting spells and interacting with the reflections from inside of it.

Uniforms

Incoming students are provided with a dress shirt, a house specific tie, a grey blazer, a black house specific robe, and an optional dark grey skirt. Uniforms are required on campus, with dress code being more relaxed on weekends when classes are not in session. Students can pick up the uniform package in Feverfew Village.

Additionally, students are given an enchanted house quill, journal, scarves, and saddlebag combination for their use during their academic career. Journals and quills are enchanted to be durable, and to never stray too far from their saddlebags, to ensure that students don’t lose their hard work. When released from their saddlebag, quills hover alongside students- ready to take notes as needed.

Lunar robes are silver, and coated with designs featuring the phases of the moon. These designs move across the robes to reflect the appearance of the moon in reality, and some students take use of their Lunar friends clothing as a method to quickly check if their potion was brewed in the correct phase. The quill feathers are sourced from a Lunar Hawk. Some students have found that the sleek, aerodynamic, and somewhat pointy Lunar Hawk feathers make for excellent projectiles- this is frowned upon by staff.
