Biography

Braya was a young stallion who happily ran about with his family making mischief. They were known for some their trade in weaponry and and protection and in his young adult years Braya was placed as a bodyguard to a rich and prominent mare. She was beautiful and confident, spending much of her time growing her business and wealth, this included marrying into another wealthy family. While as her guard her and Braya had an affair and he loved her enough to do anything for her this meant under the table dealings to strong arming others into contracts for her.

Years of this passed and in time so did her husband. She now controlled both companies and sits at the top of a vast fortune. Though one day to Brayas dismay she had no further use for him, he was sent away though not on his own. She had been pregnant at the time with his child, and once he was born gave him to Braya and disowned them both threatening if he was ever connected back to her they would both be dealt with. Braya left, not wanting to risk the kids life. He was aware of how vicious she could be; he had done plenty of dirty work for her. Though he had nowhere to go, he had chose her over his family and had been disowned by them entirely. If he went back there he would face a brutal welcoming and who knows what else. So he found a small apartment, got himself work doing odd jobs and steadily built a new life.

For the first year it was exhausting, he took the baby everywhere with him even when working, but many people were very understanding and accepting of this. He made friends and once he had a babysitter could find a more stable job. He ended up with a permanent job delivering supplies to different places. Life was good and simple for some time at least. Unbeknownst to him the mare would rear her head again. She realized he could be a loose string and decided to give his location to the owner of the local health administration, a wendigo by the name of Grimm. After nearly two years of a quiet and simple life Braya was dragged from his house by intruders. Leaving his toddler behind and alone. He was brought before Grimm he was added to the list of candidates to be turned.

Wandering the Wastes

Becoming a wendigo took months of work, and when he was changed he was going to be accepted into the fold. Though when retrieved he unleashed his fury and tore into every wendigo in his path. Grimm escaped, leaving him in the middle of a city who now feared and hated him. He had no choice but to leave and run as far as he could. He's unsure how long this was, days, weeks, months maybe... He continued to travel aimlessly, finding himself drawn to a frozen wasteland somewhere near the crystal empire. He let his mind slip away and spent this time as a mindless predator.

The Wiccan and the Witch

At some point he was found, truthfully he doesn't recall what happened but he awoke in a warm cottage with an old Mule. He remembers he tried to attack her and subsequently learned he was allergic to magic. She explained his situation, wanting to help she introduced herself as Nana. At the time he didn't know how to speak and simply followed instructions, she gave him the nickname of Bo. While there, Nana had him do chores to keep him active and distract him from his worries. She taught him where to search for supplies for potions and spells around her forested home. She also taught him about magic and some of the ways of Equestria, which he personally disliked. One day though another came to visit, the Red witch. She seemed interested in Bo and his situation as well and offered for him to visit her since she enjoyed the darker arts. Nana agreed with this though warned him to be wary. Soon enough he would visit her cabin weekly, learning about darker magic, curses and more to try and fix his ailment. Unfortunately nothing seemed to be able to fix him. Despite having to face his new reality openly he felt at ease by this, and for once in a long time comfortable, but not at peace. He knew nothing about Wendigos so with the twos help he’s began experimenting with what all he could do. Learning to talk what abilities he possessed and more.

Haven of creatures

Now recovered from his darker mental state he began to turn towards more productive tasks; with the help of Nana and Red he began to go and rescue mistreated magical beasts. Things were definitely interesting at first, he was still just living around Nanas land, but once he got larger beasts he had to find somewhere new to live to give them all that room. Red was kind, or malicious enough to provide him a mass of property out in the woods and steadily it has become a place many avoid because of the dangerous beasts that live there.

Overall he’s continued to live alone during this at least until he went out to recover a leviathan from a lake that a dam had been built against. On his way back he encountered a dying mare and her infant, desperate for her child to be saved she gave him to Bo, telling him his name was Bucky. Overall Bo couldn't save the mare but did dispatch of the ones who caused her demise. He couldn't give Bucky up, he didnt know anyone to take him and Nana had no plans to take him, she thought it would be a healthy experience, and there was no way he was going to ask Red. Ultimately he began raising the questing beast Bucky while continuing his work.

Teaching and Learning

Bo had NOT wanted to sign up for the school, it was far from his idea, Red had suggested it so it was clearly a horrible idea. Unfortunately Nana agreed with it and happily pushed him in that direction. Nana felt that the witch wanted him to go so he could be further pushed to hate ponies, but she felt that they could open his mind further. Safe to say he continued to say no to both of them at that point. SO! They both decided to sign him up anyways. He was furious when he got accepted as a teacher but there was no turning back and the two mares practically threw him out into the world again. He spent most the time panicking, hes a Wendigo and while Equestria has Wendigos he didn't know how they would feel about something that wasn't some frost spirit. With no choice but to go, especially with Bucky excited to meet ponies, he gave in.

Bo's hate for ponies grew more and more while attending the school, he felt their entitlement to a happy ending disgusting. Their general disregard for others safety and constant run towards danger without preparation appalling. Especially within the first few weeks though he did his best to keep the malice from showing. At a point it became clear there was something dangerous in the school and Bo considered just letting things lie as they were. Though he also felt if he was able to help and didn't and someone died it would basically be his fault for letting it occur. So he began to make an effort to ensure some safety through certain class activities and doing his best to try and teach self preservation.

He felt he didn't succeed much in this, most were still to willing to get others killed for their own actions. Though there were plenty of highlights, certain students made him stop worrying about the future and things a whole and helped him focus on moments instead. With this he began to lighten some of the weight on himself and focus on individual students rather then as a whole. Though this only put him in worried, exhausted, and stressed dad mode especially with Bucky running about.

Into Amber Hallow

[I] Before the school year he had been asked to make a decision by Red and Nana, to share the process of becoming a wendigo with one of them. Nana hoped to have it to study and learn how to combat it while Red wanted it for no given reason but Bo assumed to use freely as she chose. Truthfully the want to make another wendigo ate at the back of his mind, to not be alone in the world. While Grimm was still alive somewhere, he wasn't an immediate concern.

In the end because of his time at SSSFGU He decided to give the information to Nana so she could find some good from it. Red was disappointed but not angry; if anything she took it as a friendly challenge to try and get it from Nana eventually. With that though Bo headed somewhere new, a small town Red had suggested to him some time back. It was full of strange happenings and in need of someone like him. Wary at first Bo was welcomed into the community quite readily in fact. His habit to gather ingredients lead to more apothecary work around the town. In which time he met up with a Doctor by the name of Oliver Winter.

Encounter with Krampus

Wanting to check in on students and school without seeming weird by sending a letter, he decided to visit for Hearthswarming. Of course it was stressful, but Bucky and Winter seemed to enjoy their whole time there and to be honest he found he was extremely proud to see his students face danger in a more productive manner. Though of course no less disappointed by a lot of the rest.

To be fair, he counted this as a normal thing for Equestria folk to do and wasn't surprised by what all occurred but was happy to be proven wrong again by some. He also didn't know how much he had enjoyed his time at the school till then.

Back Again

With a home along one of the mountains in Amber Hollow for his beasts to freely rest and be truly safe, Bo finds himself with a new school year coming up and free time. He spent a little while talking to Winter about it who encourages him to try again. Even making a suggestion for applying for a medical role that year himself, especially after hearing about last years shenanigans. Bo needed very little coaxing to be honest and submitted his application the moment he could.

Additional Info

-Is actually a very cuddly person and enjoys physical contact occasionally, so those he’s close to he might nose or nudge.

-Also loves taking his time eating and having quiet moments like that to care for himself.

-Collecting supplies has become a calming and therapeutic activity for him, being able to pick out, label dry, mix etc and make component things out of them for later

-Despises other wendigos and generally dislikes Unicorns and magic users those this he keeps to himself unless someone flippantly uses their magic for the sake of power.

-He would count being an occasional Vet as a hobby, hes use to tending to more magically based things so a normal animal is a breeze to tend. - Still has a charm he keeps to transform into what he originally looked like as Braya.
