Biography
Amber lantern is a pony who is a little bit smaller than the average pony, she is a darkish blue/gray and has red long slightly wavy hair. Her eyes are rather strange, she has a dark red pupil with a circle of yellow and then a ring of blue, dark red markings are under her eyes that look similar to tears. She usually wears a black rose tucked behind her ear; the rose is enchanted rose to never wilt. She has two ram-like horns growing from her head which she uses to do magic, her magic aura is a gold color. Her Cutie mark is two books stacked on each other, the top book’s cover has a rose printed on it, showing her strive for knowledge but also still thinking of herself in her work. She has an antique looking lantern hanging from her tail that has no hair.
Amber Lantern was born in a small village just just south of the Equestrian Border- on the other side of the mountain range that make the border, in fact. She lived in a small, isolated, village with only the most basic of amenities available to her. As per the societal roles of her village, she stayed home with her mother, Sunset Rose, and attended to the crops and helped in the maintenance of the trails that led across the mountains. This consequently allowed her to develop a close relationship with her mother, but she grew distant to her father who was away most of the time, trying to strike the best deal of the artisan goods made in the village.
As Amber progressed through her years, she became increasingly interested in the world around her, specifically about the paths and the roles that the caretakers had in their maintenance. She asked her mother about whether or not she could shadow one of the caretakers and learn more about what they do on a daily basis. Her mother agreed to her proposition but advised how difficult the task was at hand.
She eventually found a caretaker with whom she could accompany with during her self-education about the world around her. Though her mothers word came to be true, she found the job as a caretaker exhausting and there was a serious amount of monotony to the whole job. This only satisfied her thirst for knowledge for so long before she desired for even more knowledge about the world beyond. She looked past the mountains of her home village and saw Equestria as something entirely new to her.
After many long talks with her mother and father granting permission to go to Equestria, she was finally free to explore. Before she left, her mother gave her a bag of marbles, each marble made of its own mineral or crystal, mined from the mountain by her village. Her mother told her each marble was a charm, specific to help a situation that would match the meaning of the mineral of crystal. She could either keep them all for herself or pass them on to people who need them. she packed her bags and went further beyond the trails that led into the highways to Equestria. Her destination was to the be the town of Ponyville, located in Central Equestria. After a long pilgrimage to the town. She luckily found a small home just outside the downtown area of the town. She was only 17 at the time and became fascinated with Equestria’s literature. Becoming a local at the library and reading everything about anything she could find. She began to strive for knowledge, wanting more and more to learn. This lead her to want to learn magic; she could do magic with the ram-like horns that she had but never learned to many advanced spells simply because she had no motivation to do so. Amber Lantern began practicing magic as much as she could. She grew strong but still felt like she was lacking, she studied magic for two years till she learned of Star Swirls school. She couldn't help but apply to the school, it was a dream for her.

-Amber Lantern is wise and mindful of herself in others, She world not only for the goal but for the Journey, of course, this can lead to her becoming a little prideful of her own knowledge but is always willing to share anything she learns.
Abilities
Enhanced Empathy- Amber Lantern has a gift of reading emotions, not very magical but it seems to just be in who she is, she can easily tell what someone is feeling and is usually pleased to help someone in need.
Rhyming Curse- She gained a curse of speaking in rhyme (similar to Zecora) the curse was placed on her when she had tried to perform a spell that would change her voice. The spell failed and cursed her to speak in rhymes or she could speak in like a poem or like a haiku.
