Biography
Amber Star, as a filly, had a fascination with the stars and magic that was unrivaled among her young peers and friends. So enthralled with the pursuit of such wonders, she ended up losing many friends as a result of her insatiable curiosity. Because her pursuit for knowledge was for the sake of knowledge alone, she was happy learning, even despite the lose of the colts and fillies she'd grown to call friends.
Due to her number of friends, those she could call friend were few and far between. In her ambition for knowledge, she learned what true friendship was when she looked behind her to see only a few of the ponies she'd grown to call friend had stayed at her side. To ensure those friends were treated well, among other academic reasons, she studied friendship and philosophy. These pursuits have given her a sense of loyalty that would be hard to rival, she's certainly not a pony any sane individual would willingly choose as an enemy.
Among her studies, she learned psychology in depth to the point she could, at least in theory, manipulate another pony as if they were a puppet on strings. Though with many things- theory and practice are greatly different. Amber hasn't had an opportunity to truly put such knowledge to use nor has she been able to exercise what she's learned of friendship with how few friends she has and how often she encounters them in daily life.
Amber Star's ambition is something that could potentially lead her astray at times, and she will hunger for knowledge more than she would anything else. Where other ponies her age went to parties and social gatherings, she would enjoy her evening by a candlelight with a book comfortably against her or under a blanket with a horn light to read. Though many don't know, she has a sweet tooth and cravings that she would need to binge in order to sate. The surest ways to make a good first impression on her is with a display of obscure knowledge, mastery of a subject (any at all), and perhaps a presentation or offer of sweet delights.
She finds it difficult to tolerate ponies or any creature for that matter that is in her eyes, idiotic; To her, that means they are ignorant of a subject and once exposed, they would choose to remain ignorant and having the lack of knowledge eventually come to haunt them. On the same token, she will defend those with a lack of knowledge that show a clear thirst or want to learn, even if this places her in the path of the ridicule of others. The greatest crime, to her, is to bar another creature from enlightenment of knowledge, no matter the subject.
Amber has her own sense of pride accompanied by her sense of honor and moral compass. She's a fierce mare when it comes to defending anything she places value in, especially due to her belief that if anyone does anything then they should do it with their absolute best effort the first time they do it. To that end, she will fight with everything she has at her disposal as well as every drop of knowledge and experience she has to call upon. Though she also fights with a fear of abandonment lingering in the back of her mind, not wishing to give others a reason to cast her aside.
Additional Information
-She is intuitive and observant of her surroundings. She is incredibly resourceful when she is in a fix, knowing her mind is her greatest asset and her imagination knows no bounds. Amber's curiosity seems like a bottomless pit, her ambition to learn has gotten her in trouble on more than a single occasion. Her determination and ambition can make for a troublesome combination when she sets her mind to something.
-Amber has no physical pets with her, although she does have imaginary ones she can give form to through conjuration and illusion magic.
Abilities
Concentration- Amber is able to concentrate and formulate plans under high pressure
Intelligence- Amber has extremely high aptitude for all forms of magic, and being able to mentally simulate her plans before she executes them
Combination Spells- She is able to combine basic spells in order to create a more potent final spell.
Weapon summoning - She is able to summon a small dagger made of raw magic to defend herself, though she will carry a Stella dagger as well if the option is available. (With enough practice and guidance, she hopes to be able to summon a full sized sword)
Lucid dreaming- Using magic she is able to lucid dream and spend the time reviewing and studying what she has learned recently, a skill she acquired at a young age to avoid curfew
