Biography
Auradice is a pale yellow unicorn with a petite-average build and a pastel orange tint dappling her nose, ears, and back from where her coat has been kissed by the sun. Her hooves are a golden covered by the pale fluff of her legs. Her mane starts from a light rose colour at the roots which gradients into a faded violet and indigo, much like the golden hour she was born in. Her mane is often braided into a loose sing braid down her side. Her violet eyes are oddly distant but curious and match the key cutie mark on her flank, surrounded in rose petals. Her hair is patterned with pale yellow roses, taken from home and so connected with her they are enchanted to her emotions.
Soft-spoken yet determined, the unicorn is that of a loving nature who finds comfort with in the small things. Though she finds it difficult to fully sympathize with or understand other ponies, she enjoys their company and tolerates their qualities. Auradice has a passion for beautiful things and treasures the life and colours which can be found in plant-life and the energy, serenity, healing and potential potions which can be found in them. Every type, even poisonous, and weeds will be shrouded in the absolute love of Auradice. Her dedication lies in the finest care, patience it takes to grow and nurture a flower from a seedling or a tree from a sapling.
Born on the first clear sunset of the spring of 1845, Auradice was born to Rose Mellow, a young female earthpony, and Orion, a unicorn scholar from Canterlot. She is a sibling of two, being the younger sister of her earth pony brother, Starillian.
Rose worried about the life the children would follow in the busy and royal city of Canterlot amongst the Princess herself, and the harsh and greed the divided city held. She and her family moved after convincing a reluctant Orion. They headed to a cottage by the White Tail Woods, previously owned by ancestors of Rose.
The filly grew up playing with her elder brother and the two often found themselves wandering into the forest where they would create flower crowns and tree forts for each other while telling tales of the frightening Nightmare Moon, tales of awe about sirens, and legend of Mistmane's underneath the canopy of the trees. Starillon had a lot of emotions, which sometimes confused Aura to an extent which made her come across as cold when really she cared the most about her brother. Sometimes Orion and Rose would join in with the children and create constellations under the leaves of the trees. The filly found magic hard for a very long while, even after many long lessons with her father.
By her teenage years, the siblings knew no other ponies but their family and a few travelers which passed by. They were very happy, despite Auradice lacking a cutiemark. One winter Rose and Orion received a letter from the princess, requesting Orion's abilities to aid in an investigation around the Crystal mountains due to suspicious activity. Rose was also required for her medical skills. The parents were reluctant to accept but left on their voyage leaving their children, well a fully grown Starillian and his little sister at the cottage in hopes to return with in a few weeks. Starillian grew slowly but surely ill. Weeks were long and continuous and unfortunately only a guard appeared alerting the children the parents had perished in an avalanche.
Grief was the first complex emotion Aura felt, it was confusing and hurt so she had no idea what to do but do what she had done her whole life. She galloped out into the garden - a coarse empty land where nothing had grown in years. The images of her mother and father flashed in her head and a spark ignited into her horn. She dug her hooves into the barren dirt and felt an overwhelming course of magic surrounded her and broke into the earth beneath her body. Vines broke out from the ground and decorated themselves with roses and blossom and a vivid array of colours surrounded the garden. Galactic colours covered her father's half and pink blush shrouded the rest. Butterflies and creatures bathed in the magic and energy. She collapsed in her garden and wept on the ground, her tears watering the new life. She healed her brother with the plants and a cutiemark formed on her flank.
Now, she nurtures and cares for her flowers and her brother, letting them grow freely with in her botanical kingdom. Her brother encourages her to go out there and make friends. She only wanted to be with him because he understood. Everything. But eventually she did, enrolling in a school in Baltimare. Pony emotions are still hard and ponies find her a bit... weird but it doesn't stop her from trying to make friends. She often returns to White Tail Woods, to her garden, the forest, and Starry.
Additional Information
-A young male hare follows by her side. Clover contrasts her softer personality with an energetic and bubbly kick. She cherishes him deeply.
Abilities
Plant Alteration- Auradice specializes in plant transfiguration and growth, and gains energy from flowers. Though generating plantlife will expend a great deal of energy, Audadice can passively recuperate in the presence of a well kept garden.
Levitation- Like any other unicorn, Auradice is adept at basic levitation.
