Background
Ceres had a rather regular early life, with the only abnormality being that both her parents were earth ponies. Having been born to earth ponies in an earth pony community, she didn't fit well with her peers, but also held fears that she'd be rejected from unicorn society for her weak magic. To remedy this, she read any sort of magical books she could get her hooves on, particularly those dealing with magical history and enchantments.
Ceres went on to teach History of Magic at Starswirl's School for Gifted Unicorns, happily indulging in a field she could be an expert in, even if she was unable to master any others.
Ceres passed away during the Hall of Memories incident, but her spirit lingered.
1863
Ceres' spirit wandered the dungeons of the Solar Common Room, a shadow of her former self. It seemed her memory issues had been exacerbated in death, owing in no small part to the curse placed over her to keep her from speaking of what truly happened in the Hall of Memories. She interacted with students, albeit repetitively, until she was corrupted by the shadow alicorn. Students managed to free her from its influence after shattering a purifying crystal, which not only purged the corruption but also the curse. Horrified and traumatized by the memories of her death, it seems Ceres has retreated further into herself, perhaps having chose to continue to forget all that plagues her.
1864
Ceres has faded further, her memories barely held together into a functioning spirit. She doesn't seem to be aware that she is dead at all, and maintained repeat conversations with anyone who engaged with her. Ceres wanders the school grounds, no longer sticking to only Solar Common Room as she doesn't particularly remember that she was Solar Head to begin with. Fellow ghost Glatia Gaia tried to spend time with her, but quickly gave up on the frustratingly absent Ceres.
Ceruisam tried to capture her over the course of the semester, but was thwarted by students. She seemed more confused than anything else. Ceres continues to fade, and one wonders if there will be anything left by the 1870s.
Over Hearthswarming, Ceres enjoyed being gifted the same present over and over by the Krampus, treating the same box as a new one each time- never opening it as she had forgotten she held it in her hooves each time she looked up to thank the Krampus.
