Biography
Her mane is a brown dipped in a red reverse ombre. It's curly, floofy, and near impossible to tame; she refuses to snip it off and instead favors wrangling it into a high ponytail to keep it from her eyes. Why doesn't she just cut it? It's the only thing she can successfully grow, so she will only give it the occasional trim, nothing more. Her tail is about the same, which she wrestles into a mermaid braid. Her coat is a dusty golden brown in colour, with orange tinges on her hooves. She inherited the slight discolouration from her father, whose coat while darker in colour, is unmistakably similar to hers. Her eyes are an almost ironic forest forest green, seeing as her ability with plants only extends to hurting them. Surprisingly, her magic aura is more of a navy green than forest green. Her father assures her this is normal. She has a fairly deep scar at the base of her right ear, whose origins are unknown to her.
Cold Blaze was born into a wealthy family of high society, to a highly respectable doctor and an artist, never knowing need for most of her life. She attended lavish parties and other high class functions from birth until she was about 8, when her abilities began to really rear its ugly face. The rumours and hostility from the village dwellers and other ponies of high social status caused her parents to send her away, to her paternal grandparents in the quiet countryside where they had chosen to live out the rest of their lives, and as they didn't want a repeat of what happened in the city, she could not really show her face in public too often, causing her to be extremely lonely and terribly bored, thus taking up reading to occupy her mind and entertain herself. She stayed with her grandparents for five years, picking up a love of writing from her writer and teacher grandmother. This stuck with her for the rest of her life as despite her mother's best efforts, she loved writing more than other forms of art, especially mosaics since her mother nearly dropped a box of colourful glass bits on her before she left to her grandparents'. She decided to enroll in SSSfGU in hopes such a prestigious magic school could help with her condition.
Due to her studious and more closed off nature, Cold Blaze often comes off as haughty and cold, but, while she can be sarcastic, she can be nice. Ask her nicely and she might actually give you some assistance with her usual snarky response. Cold has a very good poker face as well, and can keep a straight face despite her insides burning with the urge to laugh, or writhing in pain. Or you can do things for her and tie her down with obligations. She believes strongly in repaying debts, so tying her down as such will earn you her obligations to help, even if she does a little grudgingly.
Otherwise she's pretty awkward and kind of rude in an off handed way, and brutally honest, even if it means insulting the other person, but she doesn't usually share her opinion without being asked, her logic being "you asked, so I don't see a reason to not tell you the truth you asked for." She loves things that grow, despite never ever being able to grow anything herself but her hair, and so likes to keep fake plants and flowers around simply because they're pretty.
Additional Information
-She has a pet named Sir Lintsworth III- a flexible stuffed sock that can change into many different animals within reason of his volume of stuffing and stretchiness of his fabric. He's a very excitable creature, with a very curious nature, sometimes jumping into things like water, mud etc. He enjoys getting himself into trouble, which is why this is her third, but same lovable Sir Lintsworth, but now in a sturdier material.
-Cold is a very, very studious pony that tends to literally bury her snout in books, sometimes novels, other time informational books. Truth be told, she spends so much time with informational books mainly in search for a possible cure to break her "curse", instead preferring novels and stories of far off adventure to the nonfiction one would more often find her with, curled up in a comfortable nook and scanning intently. She is a stickler to the rules as well, and prefers to play things safe. Her academic studies are very important to her, along with her research.
Abilities
Levitation- She can do the basic levitation as most unicorns.
Trivial Magic- She can preform some novelty spells, like for cleaning stains out of things, or just restoring things in general.
Wither- A more passive ability, or curse as she regards it, would be that her presence can unintentionally cause plants to start wilting over the course some time, sometimes accelerated slightly in particularly bad times of her life, despite excellent care. For example, if she hangs out on a particular patch of grass very often, she can cause it start looking less lush after a week of repeated exposure, and the plants she has to take care of never last a month. She is working hard to get rid of this.
