Biography
Coral's parents always fought a bit- though they kept it on the low while Coral was growing up; they could be considered your average family back then. Once Coral became a teenager and started having terrible mood swings, she accidentally lashed out at her own mother at the age of 14, (No worries, not physically), which led her mother to the decision that she needed to leave for Manehattan and start a new life.
At the age of 16, Coral 'ran away' from home due to her father, who had seemed to neglect her and overall ignore her after her mother left. (The last straw was when he got out of control and nearly hit Coral with a beer bottle). She couldn't see what a dumb decision it was at the time, as she was overwhelmed with too many emotions. Coral ended up getting lost in the streets of Baltimare-resulting in the scar on her ear; she had gotten engaged in a brawl with a coyote pup, nearly costing her life.
From that day on, she decided she needed to toughen up and earn some money if she wanted to survive. She never really was able to earn any money, and when she did, it was a very scrawny amount. She was basically homeless, and when she did earn barely enough money, she spent it on staying in motels for a night, two nights at most.
An incident later at the age of 18 caused her to do some things she really regret. She was left almost emotionless for a few years until the age of 23- she found caught news of Starswirl's and decided to apply; but only because it offered a place to stay. She later learnt it was so much more than that, growing an attachment to the school and the students.

Coral clearly does not know how to talk without inserting some sarcasm here and there in her conversation. She is a sly mare, hot-headed, and has an overall tough exterior; but don't let it fool you. Having gone through a lot in her youth, she hardened on the outside, as she learned that force is the way to get things your way. On the inside, though, she is actually pretty soft and sensitive. She tries her best to be open with everypony, now that she has learnt several lessons about 'friendship' in her time at Starswirls', lessons she considers very valuable.
Abilities
Quick Reflexes- Nothing too special- Coral can duck out of the way in order to dodge a flying object in time, or get out of the way of a (usually slower) magic blast.
Perceptiveness- This is probably one of her greatest abilities- Coral is often able to read others from their emotions and help them get over tough times by just talking to them and making them feel better. After all, that's how she got her cutie mark.
Long Lasting Stamina- She has gotten used to running long distance at a steady rate, so she doesn't easily get physically tired.
Runes- From her first two years, she took runes class. She can read basic runes, but nothing more.
Basic Spells- Coral can cast your average spells, but nothing more. She'd rather throw punches than magic blasts.
