Background

Stella began life in Canterlot, incredibly privileged and isolated from common ponies. He found a fascination with the stars and soon wished to become an astronomer, but found his parents disapproving; such a position, in their view, was reserved for the lower class. Disowned, friendless, and now homeless, Stella worked his way to climb back up in society to eventually become the confidant of Princess Luna. In her, he found the beauty that he had been gazing at from afar, and a friend that understood his love for the heavens and the loneliness that came from pursuing ones dreams. Following her banishment, he felt abandoned once again; he'd been robbed of the life he had carved out for himself and was again left with nothing.

He fled Canterlot where he had found a wife and had a child- but even that could not fill the void left by the princess. Upon hearing that a new school was being founded, Stella immediately applied for a position- thinking this was a perfect opportunity to enact his plan to free the mare in the moon. Stella met Golden Virtue at SSSfGU, and the two had an immediate connection, quickly falling into a relationship with the stallion.

Stella passed away during the Hall of Memories incident, though his spirit lingered, locked away in a fractured crystal by his former lover.

Stella made brief appearances in the Nocturnal common room, the fractured crystal allowing him to project himself but not enough to become a fully fledged ghost. He attempted to warn students of Virtue's treachery, but was unable to communicate, ending up falling victim to the shade's corruption.

Though the students did banish the shadow alicorn's influence, Stella was not saved- his crystal being taken along with Virtue and Calliah in their escape.
