Biography

Gabriel was born in 1846 to the Nightingale family, a family whos prestige was held on the fact that they were known to sell and breed some of the more exotic pets out on the market. Operating through letters and sending out ponies to deliver the pets provided a decent business. though letters and sending out ponies to deliver the pets it was a decent business. From a very young age, Gabriel was taught how to handle the pets and was given chores based around such learning experiences. His father was not around very often due to the task of delivering these said creatures, ranging anywhere from a phoenix to a timber-wolf depending on what the customers had wanted. This had left Gabriel to be mainly raised by some maids and his mother when she was not busy.

Around the age of five when sent to clean the timber-wolves' habitat, Gabrial was unaware of the male timberwolves' aggression and found himself attacked. From the force of the attack, having had the heavy timberwolf on his back, Gabriel snapped the bone in his left hind leg as he landed upon it completely wrong. He blacked out, and while he doesn't remember much of the situation, he does recall a searing pain in his left leg and the feeling of teeth tearing into his back. After this incident, his mother began to shelter him from the more aggressive beasts while his maids took care of the wound. Due to how the bone had been snapped, it had healed wrong with the bone set incorrectly given that the maid who'd attended to his leg had been losing her eyesight. This resulted in a permanent limp on his leg, and gave Gabriel a lifelong goal to one day walk again and fix his injured leg.

This injury hindered the way the boy moved around, and for some time he could not walk. During this time, the maids had gifted him a bird- a beautiful raven with glossy midnight blue feathers and beautiful ruby red eyes. Gabriel named her Liana, after his maid. Everyday she would be perched beside his bed, and would fly over when he raised his front hoof. This bird gave Gabriel company when he was bedridden and unable to do much save for lie there. He gained some interest in reading during this time. He had grown a bond with the raven, and she would sit on his shoulder on lap near the book and 'read along' with the young stallion.

One day, when Gabriel awoke, his raven had not been upon her perch, nor did he hear her wings flapping the way she did when she was brought in late, full of excitement. No- he would never hear that sound again. Liana had died. All that Gabriel had to remember her by was a single feather which he asked his mother to preserve for him- he began to wear this feather around his neck on a necklace. The time he had cherished with Liana had opened up Gabriel's love of smaller animals, and due to his mother not trusting him with larger ones, she began to bring in more of the less exotic creatures for him to care for.

It would take Gabriel a few years to master walking with the newfound limp in his leg, the stallion staggering about and falling the first few times he had begun to train himself to move in this way. He would refuse help from the maids, knowing he needed to learn to do this by himself, as he was quite determined to do. As soon as he could walk again, despite his limp, Gabriel begged his father to take him out in order to see the world. His father agreed to a month at best, and Gabriel spent the trekking through he forest with his father and two female phoenixes. The one that resembled blue flames often was kept on Gabriel's shoulder, and he developed a knack for talking to the bird despite his father's disapproval. As the two entered a quaint little town, his father began toward a manor in the distance while Gabriel decided to track down a healer. To his dismay, the one within this town had gone away for some herbs and wouldn't be back for quite some time.

In the meantime, while Gabe waited for his father, he had stumbled upon some foxes. These were lone kits, and based upon a trail of blood, it was clear their mother was not coming back. Knowing the mother was as good as dead, Gabriel began to care for the kits, refusing his father's help as they made their way back home.

By the age of 12, Gabriel had added 4 more beads to the necklace he kept as a memorial to his pet bird that had started this love. Each represented an animal he had cared for until they were released back into the wild, died, or had to be sold off. He was also balancing his time between caring for this animals and practicing spells his mother had sought to teach him. He learned to levitate, and heat up bed spaces to keep young animals warm until their mother's returned, and alongside this he was homeschooled by his mother, usually once a day for around three hours. As Gabriel read about places around the world, the princesses, great evils, and history, his interest was piqued.

As the years ticked by Gabriel's thirst for knowledge only grew stronger, outweighing that of his love for caring for small animals. However, when his bearded dragon hatched, Gabriel set aside all other goals to make sure this little lizard would survive, with the bond between Gabriel and Macaroon something he'd never let go of. Gabe was still determined to set out and explore the world, but when he brought this to his mother she had different plans. She produced a parchment that described an elite school for unicorns. Gabriel's eyes lit up at the chance having seen the classes offered, and his main goal of exploration was set back in his mind at this point. He had many at this point, but he knew he wanted to continue his studies, to learn new tricks and spells to progress as a breeder of exotic animals- and most of all he wished to find a cure for his leg to walk normal once again.

Abilities

Moving with Disability- Not a magical Ability, But Due to his injury happening in early childhood, Gabriel has learned to move around at a decent speed despite having the limp when he walks, yes this does make him trip up and down stairs and hallways sometimes, but he try and can escape danger if needed

A Care for Nature- Another Non-Magic ability, While his life has revolved around his family's job, he did find a passion in helping take care of the unique biomes and plants that the family had to keep for specific animals to stay healthy and happy

Tranquility- Gabriel can pacify rambunctious or rabid acting animals, causing them to get drowsy, start to calm, or fall asleep. It can be very helpful when locking the animals up for the night, or if the animal needed medical attention and was acting out

Warmth- As the name suggests, Using this spell Gabriel would be able to warm up a small area of like fabric to give warmth and comfort to any animal that had been needing it, for example kittens or puppies that had no mother. Another use for this could be heating up a liquid, to a decently warm temperature, but not hot enough to burn

Levitation- Gabriel has average unicorn magic in this regard. He can lift objects and medium sized beasts such as Timberwoves and larger sized cats. It helps when he needs to catch something so it doesn't break, or if he needs to hold off a smaller animal for a moment so he can get far enough away first, though he can only hold it for a few minutes before the spell weakens and fully dissipate
