Biography
Having an Unicorn merchant as a father and a Qiling weaver as his mother, Lin grew up in a mix of Western and Eastern culture. Bestowed with tremendous curiosity and a thirst for knowledge, Lin had begun his studies from a young age, attracted to the finer arts and theories of how the world of magic worked.
Unfortunately, tragedy struck the family- war broke out in Sineigh, as generals and leaders rose through the vast lands, aiming to throw down the emperor and build their own dynasties. Lin's mother died in the chaos, protecting the teenaged Qiling from harm. Lin and his father then hurried back to Equestria, flying for their lives.
Seeing Lin descend into a deep depression after his mother'a death, his father sent him to study at Starswirl's, hoping the company of peers and studying can take his mind of his loss, and that the teachers there may be able to help Lin in some way.
It was quite a hectic first year at SSSFGU, and Lin had experienced things he never expected to go though, for better or for the worst. Although having lost his sight permanently in an incident involving a powerful, angry school ghost, the Qiling thought that he had gained so much more- a family he could rely on in times of need, and a place where he belongs.

Abilities
Shields- He is proficient in shields and wards.
Illusions- Lin's illusion magic is excellent.
SSSfGU Classes- Runes, Charms, COMC, Potions.
Quilin Abilities- He has excellent stamina, speed, kicking power, and recovers from injuries relatively quickly while in sunlight (photosynthesis). He is also able to walk on water, though not to a foolproof extent.
Spirit Sight- Lin can see the essence of living creatures, and used this to navigate while blinded in 1864.
Hobbies- Lin possesses skills in culinary fields, and in music making.
