Biography
She is an adusa with fins, and scales rather than fur. She is taller than the average pony, taller than luna but shorter than Celestia with a horse like build as opposed to pony.
Leilani was born to a adusa named La'ei, along with her half sister Ngaio. She was raised in Polyneighsia as best as could be, though not by her standards. Her mother always had a preference towards Ngaio, seeing that she most resembled her mother while Leilani did not. This had caused little Leilani to become resentful of her sister, jealous even. The two had been close as foal fry, but grew apart as the years went by. No matter how hard Ngaio tried to show her sister how much she loved her, Leilani was blindsided due to her mother's obvious preference.
Once at a suitable age, Leilani left her family behind. The mare made sure to use a magical cloak to hide her features before traveling to the original home of the adusa, the Everdeep Spring. Once there, the femme gave herself a new name - Loire Cantrelle De La Fontaine - and claimed to be from Prance. This was the beginning of her new life, one she would build for herself without the snide remarks of her mother.
Loire remained living in the Everdeep for sometime until she head of a magic school. Curious as ever, the adusa applied and was accepted. Her first year went by well, and she even made friends and managed to keep her secrets. Once this semester was over, she had quite the adventure. Let's just say it involves helping a couple of merponies find their tribe, and among the group was a jersey devil who had the hots for the little mermare. Their travels brought them to her place of origin where she came face to face with her family once more, and it wasn't the best of reunions.
Currently, she resides within the Everdeep once more and is applying for her next semester at Starswirls.
Additional Information
- She has an eye for jewelry and other shiny trinkets- she cant keep her hooves off of them. -She loves learning new things, though she tends to struggle in class; this is a whole new world for her, after all.
-Without any distractions, Loire can actually grasp concepts well and learn in class.
-No matter how curious she is about the school, Loire cannot resist the temptation of water. She is often found sneaking into the Lunar Common Room after students so she can wade in the pools. She is notorious for sneaking out for a midnight swim in the lake.
-She loves exploring the school and learning about it.
-She has bouts of extreme anger that she quickly controls. This anger is deeply repressed.
-She is ashamed of her heritage.
-She has family issues with her mother and sister, and is resentful of Ngaio.
Abilities
Levitation- Loire has basic levitation on par with most unicorns.
Basic Runes- After attending Runes at SSSfGU, she knows how to utilize basic runes.
Basic Runes- After attending Transfiguration at SSSfGU, she knows how to utilize basic spells and can transfigure small items.
Gender Bender- Adusas are able to biologically shift their sex at will.
Land-Legs- In order to travel on land, Adusa are able to grow a pair of hind legs.
Hunting- Her natural predatory nature gives her hunting skills for small mammals and birds such as squirrels, rabbits, and robins- but she is able to hunt fish and larger prey as well.
Magical Cloak- This is a thin layer of illusory magic that coats her facial features. It masks her white face, ram-like gem horns and teeth from view of others.
Calming Song- Rather than the lure of a siren song, Loire can sing a song that she can use to calm herself or defuse hostile situations. It may not always work, dependent on the severity of the situation.
