Biography
Milo Cordova was born to two middle class parents who absolutely adored him. Unfortunately, the same could not be said for how they felt towards each other. While he was a young child they agreed to stay together to raise him, which was both a wonderful and terrible idea. They both treated him great, but had a tendency to fight often with each other and to talk badly about the other parent to him. Never did either take their anger out on him though, as none of it was ever directed at him.
Both his parents had very high educations and were very bright, and they expected Milo to turn out like them. He wasn't a child prodigy to their dismay, but with a tutor from the young age of 5 and plenty of teaching from his parents, he was much brighter than many of his classmates. Social skills were not something he excelled in though, as that was something that he couldn't be taught from a book. His parents preferred for him to stay at home and read over going out to play, so he never got a chance to really develop or learn anything first hand either.
Over the years his parents relationship got worse and his studies picked up pace, so instead of paying attention to them he just hid in his room with books to avoid thinking about it. Books became his main companion, but he didn't mind. All the fighting was starting to negatively impact him, though, and as much as they assured him it had nothing to do with him, Milo couldn't help but think he was the cause of it all. He never mentioned it to them, but soon he became much more withdrawn and less emotional or expressive of his feelings. This did not bother his parents though, as his grades were phenomenal and he never seemed outwardly upset, so they just let him be.
When he was around the age 13, he finally made some friends, which was honestly some sort of miracle. It wasn't surprising to him that no one wanted to play with the kid who never spoke, seemed to only have one bland expression, and only wore white and beige. Not quite the kid everyone was clamoring to befriend. These friends were Prince, Blair and Cazziel, all of which he is still close friends with. How they met he can't recall exactly, but anytime before meeting them seems like years ago.
Even if his relationship with his parents didn't change, by the time he was 19 he was a very different boy. For the most part he kept up his rather ridiculous facade of being bland and unfeeling, but his friends had sparked a much different side of him. He adores being around them and participating in any adventures he gets dragged along to, the most recent being a Nightmare Night fair event, where he might have complained the entire time but enjoyed it nonetheless. His love for books has become more of a passion than a necessity forced upon him by his parents, and is more enjoyable for him than ever. Instead of solely nonfiction and educational stories he's started reading more fun things, like fantasy and adventure, which have motivated him to be a bit more creative with his thoughts and ideas instead of following the book word for word.
He's also gained a pet around the winter holiday seasons, a turtle that had been gifted to him by his close friend Blair. However, due to his accidental poor treatment of the creature, such as neglecting to feed or care for it, Blair made the wise decision to 'steal' the turtle back and replace it with a rock. However due to how neglectful Milo has been to it, he has not noticed the swap yet, and still believes the rock to be his turtle.
Additional Information
-He has a pet rock named Pluto. He believes it to be a very shy turtle though, since he rarely pays enough attention to it to notice. No magic/hidden abilities, just a rock doing a very good impression of a shy turtle.
-Cold. Unapproachable. Far from friendly. These are words that would describe Milo- well, at least that's how he sees himself, or how he tries to be. He has a very one track mind, however that one track is just on making himself the best he can be. Milo is fairly self centered, and perhaps a bit obsessed with his appearance. He keeps everything pristine, including his emotions. Often he thinks he's in complete control of them, however it's really impossible to always keep them in check. Milo breaks his emotionless facade more often than he likes to admit, and around friends it's rather nonexistent.
- Milo has a great thirst for knowledge and desire to make his mark on the world. He doesn't quite know what he wishes to do yet, but his goal is to find himself in the history books someday. Being unique and standing out in a crowd is something he values, especially when it comes to his looks, along with always presenting himself as the intelligent stallion he is. As of now he lacks the ambition needed to actually succeeded in his goal, however he is doing his best to gain the education needed to achieve such a daunting task.
- He is a little obsessed with having everything always be 'good'. He does not tolerate misbehavior for himself or peers, and would totally be the type to point out any troublemakers to a teacher, it to even turn himself in if he'd found he'd broken a rule.
- Still not too social, however he is interested in expanding his friend group over the course of the year
- Holds himself to a high and near impossible standard for most things, grades especially
- Tends to be a big fan of neutral and 'boring colors', and his taste in food is quite similar. Mashed potatoes and plain noodles are some of his favorite foods.
Abilities
Forgery- He is able to easily mimic other's hoofwriting due to a small spell he'd been taught by his father. He isn't perfect, but it can be rather accurate. He rarely uses it, but finds it entertaining.
Levitation- Basic levitation as an average unicorn would have
Fast Learner- Excellent at picking up new information and techniques
Work Ethic- Very good at following step by step spells for potions and such. Although he's only attempted making simple ones with no harsh effects
