Biography
Born to a family of candymakers, Raspberry Ribbon enjoyed a comfortable early life of joy and sugar, having near instantly taken to her family's craft like a fish to water. Colorful treats made up Razzles' life, with the little pink pony throwing her own spin on the craft by introducing transfiguration magic. Razzes worked to make all sorts of enchanted candy, such as delicate sugar butterflies and glowing orbs of gumdrops; with transfiguration she could practically enchant anything to be cute, colorful, and appetizing. This applied to Razzles herself, as she used to apply a number of small transfiguration and illusion spells as part of her morning dressup routine. Razzles maintained her family's sweets shop from some time until she saw the opportunity to go teach at Starswirl's, and pass on what knowledge she had, given her love for ponykind- being in such an institution filled to the brim with ponies of all sorts was a wonderful opportunity she refused to miss.
That strong belief in the goodness of the world would be tested, and broken over the course of the semester.
1864
As a pony who had previously been defined by her bubbly, chipper personality, Ribbon struggles with finding who she is supposed to be now that she can no longer muster the same joy for life that she had before. After a series misfortunes (including but not limited to being held hostage by the Creeper, witnessing a bloodbath, being used as a shield by corrupted Echo, and then delivering the killing blow to Echo) she grew to be more cynical and serious in order to adapt to a world much crueler than she had imagined.
Though she holds a great distaste for the school, she quickly accepted Thanatos’ offer of Vice Headmistress in order to have a second chance to make up for her failures as a professor the year previously. Her sister was staunchly against this, but she could not persuade Ribbon otherwise. After all, her candy shop brought her no happiness anymore, leaving her with little options other than taking the job. This time, she’ll be prepared for anything- though at the cost of her own comfort.
The semester, as she had expected, was disastrous. Though admittedly it could have been far worse, she still suffered a fair deal of misfortune, as well as discovering that her temper had shortened significantly when faced with a student who failed to follow the rules she'd set in place. Razzles endured torment at the hooves of Ceriusiam, and loathed having been made a damsel in distress once again.
Raspberry made a point to attend Ceruisams' hanging, and as she watched as his life was extinguished, something within her died along with him.
1865
Raspberry Ribbon sees no point in going back to her sweets shop, and has put it up for sale. There are ponies worth fighting for at SSSfGU, and she feels that there is something dark just on the horizon; she can't leave her position in good conscience. Though the halls of Starswirl's contain more than enough bad memories, she is determined to see it through and ensure that the students will be kept as safe as possible.

-She has a love for creative hobbies, but in recent times has found it hard for herself to put passion in her work. She’ll always encourage students creative pursuits.
