Biography
Saal has a light grey coat and an average build, with a purple mane that is pulled over to one side. He has two tails, one overlapping the other. His horn is broken. His eyes are green, and he wears an amulet around his neck.
Growing up to a well off family, given most things he could have asked for and a decent at home education, a sense of cockiness and high expectations on himself sent him to the hospital after a failed attempt at a magic project. From this, a parasite attached onto him, changing him far more than imagined. He no longer wanted his parents money nor their gifts, he didn’t view them the same and ultimately saw them as a way of shoving him away. In retaliation to this, he left without any bits and started his travels. From place to place he visited, selling off items he collected as he went about; he rarely spent his bits on food or necessary supplies. Instead he spent it on books of research and useful information. After four years of travels, and a heart aching broken relationship, Saal managed to settle down near a village known as Hollow Shades. There he pursued his urges of research, and testing, creating new creatures and forming some close bonds with them.
With a place to settle down, Saal found more time to focus a bit on himself. Forgetting most things that happened to him, he started writing in journals to keep a reminder of what happened. This, mixed with his desire for his reading, lead him to become a rather decent writer. As other ponies come around and introduce themselves to him, he finds himself being rather closed off to begin with, but quickly warms up to others if they share interests with him. His biggest issue about making friends comes down to his self image; he fears being judged for having an odd tail and broken horn.
When he does get acquainted with another, he grows overly attached to them. Saal would likely throw himself into the way of danger to ensure his friends will avoid injury.
A quick way to get warm with Saal is throw caramel and apples. Occasionally alcohol, but he doesn’t drink as often as other. Soft or squishy things that can withstand being tugged or pulled are a favor of his as well, he views them as an excellent way of releasing stress while having something to hold afterwards.
