Venice Vann Clover

Celestial House

19 | Female | Unicorn

Biography

On the day of her birth, Venice was abandoned in the middle of the Everfree forest. No one knew where she came from, who she was, and what abilities were held within her. She had no chance at survival, abandoned as a baby, until her soon-to-be mother, Paris Vann Clover, found her. Paris raised her daughter isolated from civilization, as they did live in the middle of the Everfree forest. That however, did not stop Venice's curious imagination from sprouting. She explored every inch of the Forest that she was allowed to go to, finding new creatures, plants, hideouts.

Even though Venice loved to go adventuring, she also loved to stay inside with her mother, learning to bake, read, and play music. Music was never her forte, but she did fancy reading and baking. If she found any new book on the outskirts of the Forest, she would snatch it for herself, and read and read.

As Venice grew, she became more reckless and excited, and yes, even more curious. One day, at age 16, she met her first ever pony, other than her mother of course. She was awkward, excited, and never knew how to engage in conversation with another pony, so their meeting didn't last long, but she was still so happy to meet another being like herself.

That meeting however, sprouted a new curiosity, and her adventures in the forest soon came to be adventures, secret adventures, outside the forest. She finally got to see her story books come to life- markets and castles and anything she could ever imagine was right before her eyes. And that is when she stumbled upon Starswirl's School for Gifted Unicorns.

After 1864

After many memorable moments in the 1864 semester at Starswirl’s, Venice had become a much more knowlegable pony, no longer being ignorant to the outside world that her mother had made her become, which lead her to have a falling out with her, in the end. After this, Venice sent herself out into the world, to learn more of everything she had missed out on, and to further her magical skills.

Speaking of magical skills, after a hideous attack on her school house which lead to Venice being set on fire, instead of fearing the flames, she wanted to conquer it, so something like that would never happen again. Venice searched for many other unicorns who specialized in fire-based magic, town after town, city after city. Even though she is only a novice, she is determined to conquer what had once conquered her.

However, traveling wasn’t as easy as Venice had thought. Yes, furthering her magic was a set goal, but survival was another one of those goals. This lead to Venice taking up jobs, and when she couldn’t find any, she took up on what she called “borrowing”, however it was more stealing than anything. Obviously, she knows this is wrong, but she always gave some back in return. This didn’t last long though, as she was caught “borrowing” from a tavern in Sire’s Hollow by a local volunteer firefighter, who had also owned the tavern, she was forced to choose to either work for him and pay off her debt, or be turned in. Of course, she chose to work, so now she inhabits said tavern, with a growing admiration for the old stallion who employed her.

Additional Information

-Even though Venice lacks her fair share of patience and tolerance, mostly towards those on her “not so good” side, her qualities of dedication, love for hard work, kindness, but most importantly loyalty, makes up for that lack. Venice values her friends over everything, as in her eyes, her friends are actually family, and she’d do anything for them. Obviously, this loyalty can be seen as a dependency, but Venice still feels a strong admiration for all of them.

Odd the Cat- Odd was a kitten obtained by Venice in one of the more dangerous class assignments. She and other fellow classmates were sent to the school’s sewers to save kittens from a number of obstacles. Venice had faced many of those said obstacles but only had saved Odd in the end.

Jack the Pupkin- Jack is one of Venice’s more magical creatures, as he is a pumpkin who metamorphosed into pumpkin dog. Unlike Odd, Jack is much more of a troublemaker, and like his owner, enjoys his fair share of treats.

Abilities

Baking- After befriending a certain baker from her house, Venice had furthered her baking skills, and after traveling for so long, she picked up on many new recipes to try out. She hopes to one day impress her friend, and bake alongside him again.

Fire based Magic- After a certain incident at the school where Venice was terribly burned, she soon had a quick for fire magic. Of course, she's not very good at it, but she does her best to master it, eventually.

“Borrowing”- Traveling with a limited amount of currency was much harder than Venice had anticipated, so in turn, Venice went to “borrowing”. Well, Venice likes to call it borrowing. Really, it's stealing, but she likes to call it "taking it for a while and will eventually give it back."

1864 Magical Abilities- Venice had learned well from last semester, mainly keeping up with the spells that she had learned in Astronomy and Charms.
